Valongo
Description
The Valongo Station is part of the Douro line that was inaugurated on July 28, 1875. The main and oldest building dates back to that time. Valongo had two platform ferry pier, from which their products were transported by train. This was one of the busyiest lines of the Douro. The “valonguenses” bakers used to sell to the passengers who drew near the windows of the carriage the renowned bread and the delicious cookies. You should accept the challenge. Go back to the past and board in the thematic guide tour "Do Grão ao Pão" (From the Grain to Bread) which has its point of departure and arrival here, visiting other places of interest associated with the bakery tradition of Valongo.
