Gouvães do Douro Pillory

According to tradition, Gouvães do Douro had importance as a village, having received royal charter from King D. Sancho I in 1202. The classified pillory as Public Interest Monument, confirms this tradition. It has a cylindrical shaft and a great pillar that supports the cage.
