Chapel of St. Gregory in Covas

Vila Nova de Cerveira
Description
This is a chapel of modest proportions with misaligned walls that reflect its age – fifteenth century – which is evident in the façade turned to the west, but especially in the portal with its notched edges and lintel based in decorative imposts. There is an inscription in the lintel – GREGORIO – and on the gable of the axial portal there is a bell tower crowned by a Greek cross which is repeated in the opposite gable. The wooden statue representing St. Gregory is of great interest.
