The Bernardo's river pier is an infrastructure of access to the river for recreational and leisure activities, and a site with unique landscape features stressed by the union of the river with the terraces of the Douro Wine Demarcated Region.
Consisting of a floating platform for docking boats, and a pedestrian walkway over the river, it may also serve as a support structure for sports fishing.
It is also a place for entertainment and recreation, not only for the local people, but also for all visitors.
