In full mountain area of the Alvão Natural Park, the village of Barreiro is a small cluster of granite houses, some of them still covered with thatch, where,
scarce means of subsistence are divided between agriculture and the
cattle breeding.
In the center of village stands out an interesting Bell Tower, isolated from the church.
In this place, you can glimpse the West, unparalleled panoramic, which highlights the perfect geological cone of Monte Farinha, culminating in the Sanctuary of Senhora da Graça and the east the imposing Serra do Alvão.
Is distant 27 km from the county seat and is at an elevation of 979m.
